Why one contractor

Siding, roof and gutters as one exterior

Water doesn’t care where the roof ends and the siding begins. Some of the worst leaks we find are at those transitions: step flashing hidden behind siding where a garage roof meets a second-story wall, kickout flashing missing at the bottom of a roof line, or trim around windows below a gutter that overflows.

Many Novi homes from the 1980s through the 2000s have vinyl siding that has faded, cracked or warped over the years, and some have wood or composite trim that has started to soften. When siding is replaced on its own, the roof flashing behind it is often left as it was. When it is done with the roof and gutters, we can replace that flashing, add kickouts and coordinate the drip edge, gutters and trim.

We remove the old siding, check and photograph the sheathing and housewrap, fix what is damaged and install the new siding with proper flashing at windows, doors and roof lines. You get photos of what was under the old siding, daily cleanup, and a briefing each evening. We can also help you put together the color and product details your HOA’s architectural review will ask for.

What we do

Siding work for Novi homes

From a storm-damaged wall to a full re-side done with a new roof.

Full siding replacement

Old siding removed, the wall checked and repaired, and new siding installed over a proper weather barrier.

Whole-house exterior

Siding repair

Cracked, loose or missing panels replaced and blended in when the rest of the siding is still sound.

Repair before replace

Roof-line flashing

Step and kickout flashing where walls meet the roof, so runoff can’t get behind the siding.

Where many leaks start

Rot & sheathing repair

Soft sheathing and trim found under old siding are photographed, shown to you and replaced.

Fixed before it’s covered

Trim, soffit & fascia

The edges around windows, doors and eaves finished so the siding, gutters and roof line meet cleanly.

Tight at every edge

Storm damage siding

Hail and wind damage to siding photographed and documented with the roof for your insurance adjuster.

Choosing the scope

Repair, re-side, or do it with the roof

Not every house needs new siding. If the damage is limited to one wall or a few panels and the rest is sound, a repair is the honest answer. When the siding is cracked, faded or loose all over, or water is getting behind it, a full re-side makes more sense.

If your roof is also getting old, doing roof, gutters and siding together is often the smartest move: the flashing at every roof line is done once and done right, and you can choose shingle and siding colors side by side. We’ll walk you through material and color choices at the estimate, and you can preview Owens Corning shingle colors with the Design EyeQ visualizer.

Either way, the estimate is in writing, with photos of the damage we found, so you can compare it fairly.

“Kincaide did a phenomenal job fixing up my garage roof and siding. They also cleaned up the area after so my dog wouldn’t get hurt. Everytime there was any issue found during installation, they provided picture evidence. They also were the best cost when compared to other companies. Highly recommend.”

Siding in Novi

Updating the look within the rules

In many Novi subdivisions, siding color is a neighborhood decision as much as a personal one.

Novi’s HOA communities often have architectural review for exterior changes, and siding is one of the biggest visual changes a house can make. Some associations have approved color palettes; others want to see samples next to the brick, stone and roof. Planning siding, roof and gutter colors together and getting one approval for all of it saves time.

Roofing questions

Siding questions from Novi homeowners

Materials, HOA approval and why it pays to coordinate with the roof.

Does my Novi HOA have to approve new siding?
In many Novi subdivisions, yes, especially for a color or material change. We help you put together the product, color and sample details for architectural review.
Do I need a permit for new siding in Novi?
Re-siding is often permitted work. Check with the City of Novi building division for the requirements for your address.
Should I do siding and the roof at the same time?
If both are near the end of their life, doing them together lets us replace the flashing where they meet and coordinate gutters and trim. It also means one round of disruption.
Can you replace just one damaged section of siding?
Often, yes, though finding an exact match for older or faded siding can be hard. We show you options before we start.
What is under my siding, and why does it matter?
Sheathing and a weather barrier such as housewrap. If water has been getting behind the siding, those layers may be damaged. We photograph them when the old siding comes off.
What drives the cost of new siding?
Wall area, the siding material, trim details, the number of windows and doors, height and access, and any sheathing repairs. The estimate is free.
